Title: [Botulism in Poland in 2004]. Author: Czerwirński M, Czarkowski MP, Kondej B. Journal: Przegl Epidemiol; 2006; 60(3):465-70. PubMed ID: 17249167. Abstract: A total number of 53 foodborne botulism cases were registered in Poland in 2004 (incidence rate 0.14 per 100 000 population), in rural areas--32 cases (incidence 0.22) and in urban areas--21 cases (incidence 0.09). There were 29 sporadic cases, 6 outbreaks of two persons, and two outbreaks involving three and nine people. Meat products (especially home made) were the main vehicle of botulin toxin.
