  • Title: [Morphological features and secretory gastric function in patients with chronic gastritis against the background of B12 deficiency anemia].
    Author: Vorob'ev SA.
Journal: Eksp Klin Gastroenterol; 2006; (4):11-6, 114. PubMed ID: 17269416.
    Abstract:
As many as 45 patients with chronic atrophic gastritis against the background of B12 and iron-deficiency anemia were examined. Chronic atrophic gastritis combined with B12 deficiency anemia was found to damage in most cases the antral and fundic parts of the stomach simultaneously, while the gastric process combined with iron-deficiency anemia involved the antral part only in most cases. The disease is accompanied by a considerable reduction of acid, pepsinogen and biermerin formation, especially in cases of chronic atrophic gastritis associated with B12 deficiency anemia.
