Author: Cosar-Alas R, Yurut-Caloglu V, Karagol H, Caloglu M, Yalcin O, Turgut B, Saynak M, Uzal C. Journal: Lung Cancer; 2007 Jun; 56(3):455-8. PubMed ID: 17298855. Abstract: Various remote effects of cancer or paraneoplastic syndromes (PNS) are common in lung cancer, and may be the manifestation of the disease or its recurrence. The symptoms may be endocrine, neuromuscular or musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, cutaneous, hematologic, gastrointestinal, renal, or miscellaneous in nature. Since the symptoms of paraneoplastic syndromes may occur before the local symptoms of the primary tumor, it might be helpful in the early diagnosis of malignancy. We present a 65-year-old man with multiple paraneoplastic syndrome forms consisting of pancytopenia leukocytoclastic vasculitis and hypertrophic pulmonary osteoarthropathy, associated with non-small cell lung carcinoma.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
