Title: Relationships of foreign protein injections (hyposensitization) in atopic children to serum lipids and lipoproteins. Author: Gordon VH, Rountree HP, Matthews JW, Feldman G, Thompson C, Brewster MA. Journal: Ann Allergy; 1976 Jan; 36(1):1-9. PubMed ID: 174460. Abstract: Foreign protein injections (hyposensitization) given for one year to human asymptomatic asthmatics did not increase their serum total lipids or lipoprotein levels, as they apparently did in rabbits fed a lipid-rich, cholesterol-poor diet. Serum total protein and immunoglobulin levels for IgA, IgM and IgG for the asthmatics and controls were no different.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
