  • Title: [Transient tachypnoea in the newborn infant and anomalous resorption of the pulmonary fluid after birth].
Author: Fournet JP, Cheynier JM, Cloup M.
Journal: Rev Fr Gynecol Obstet; 1973 May; 68(5):291-308. PubMed ID: 17474196.
    Abstract:
Ten cases of "transient tachypnoea" in the newborn infant have been reported by the authors, with details on the clinical, radiological and biological aspects. No definite etiology could be determined with certainty. However, birth by cesarean section appears a very likely favouring factor. The proposed physiologicopathological hypothesis to explain the troubles is a delay in resorption of the pulmonary fluid. On this occasion, the main modalities of resorption of this fluid following birth have been reviewed, and the factors that can modify it have been discussed.
