Title: Why Medicaid GME funding should be preserved. Author: Keough CL, Webster SA. Journal: Healthc Financ Manage; 2007 Sep; 61(9):54-6, 58. PubMed ID: 17937119. Abstract: Although the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services says that it lacks statutory authority to provide federal funding for graduate medical education (GME), the authors present three arguments refuting this claim: States have made Medicaid GME payments and received matching funds for those payments since the inception of the Medicaid program.
