    Abstract:
    After a review of various surgical methods for voice and speech rehabilitation following laryngectomy, the results of surgical rehabilitation in 16 cases are discussed. A direct internal T-E shunt has been created, and the Groningen voice prosthesis used in all cases. The functional results were excellent. The importance of an adequate indication for a specific form of rehabilitation is stressed, pointing out the significance of surgical rehabilitation.
