    Abstract:
    OBJECTIVE: Restoration of the lateral tibial condyle, a functionally intact knee joint, and correct physiological axis. INDICATIONS: Posttraumatic cartilage and bone defect of the lateral tibial condyle too severe for reconstruction in a young patient. CONTRAINDICATIONS: Age > 50 years. Patellofemoral joint degeneration. Defect of the patella or lateral femoral condyle. SURGICAL TECHNIQUE: Transplantation of the own, ipsilateral patella into the bone defect of the lateral tibial condyle. RESULTS: The result in one patient was found to be excellent 5 years after the accident and was good in one other patient 13 years following trauma. The third patient showed a good result 1.5 years after the accident.
