Title: [CIDP: diagnostic strategy when electromyography is not contributive]. Author: Denys V. Journal: Rev Neurol (Paris); 2007 Sep; 163 Spec No 1():3S54-7. PubMed ID: 18087230. Abstract: The diagnosis of Chronic idiopathic demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP) is based on clinical, biological and electrophysiological data. Besides the easily recognized classic forms, there are many clinical variants, sometimes with paucisymptomatic presentation leading to uncertain diagnosis. Numerous sets of diagnostic criteria have sought to define CIDP, specially electrophysiological criteria. These criteria are more sensible than specific. We report two cases of CIDP. Electrodiagnostic studies did not show evidence of multifocal demyelination. We describe the other examinations available to diagnose CIDP.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
