Title: [Polyps in the stomach and duodenum]. Author: Mortensen MB, Fenger C. Journal: Ugeskr Laeger; 2008 Jan 07; 170(1):25-30. PubMed ID: 18208710. Abstract: Polyps are reported in 3-5% of adults undergoing upper gastrointestinal endoscopy. The most common types in the stomach are fundic gland polyps, followed by hyperplastic polyps and adenomas. Gastric metaplasia, adenomas and inflammatory polyps are the most common polyps in the duodenum. Treatment options and aggressiveness should be balanced by detailed knowledge of the malignant potential of the different polyps as well as the symptoms, the patient's age and comorbidity.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
