    Abstract:
    A study was made of Ca2(+)-accumulating ability of plasma membranes of nonstriated cells of rat aorta 3, 10, 30, 180 and 365 days after whole-body gamma irradiation with doses of 0.5, 1.0 and 4.0 Gy. The radiation doses used were shown to cause structural and functional modification of Ca2(+) pump which was a function of dose. The process under study was normalized during the first months following irradiation.
