Title: DNA and classical genetic markers in schizophrenia. Author: Owen MJ, McGuffin P. Journal: Eur Arch Psychiatry Clin Neurosci; 1991; 240(3):197-203. PubMed ID: 1827608. Abstract: Interest in genetic marker studies of schizophrenia has been considerably enhanced by the advent of recombinant DNA technology, which has dramatically increased the number of available markers. In the present paper, we review studies that have been carried out using classical markers as well as the more recent molecular studies. The problems that arise when schizophrenia is studied in this way are discussed and attempts are made to account for some of the conflicting findings in this area.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
