  • Title: On treating acne vulgaris with antiandrogens.

    Abstract:
    The results of hormonal antiandrogen therapy obtained in our group of 12 patients suffering from acne premenstrualis are reported. The patients with the acne papulosa, papulopustulosa et indurata were given cyproteronacetate 2 mg and ethinylestradiol 50 micrograms daily between the 5th and 25 days of their menstrual cycle. The symptoms had withdrawn in 10 cases, improved in 2. The side effects of the cure are evaluated and the mechanism of this therapy is discussed.
