Title: [Tobacco smoking in workplaces]. Author: Piekoszewski W, Florek E. Journal: Przegl Lek; 2007; 64(10):861-4. PubMed ID: 18409327. Abstract: Smoking in a workplace can be an important source of the exposure to environmental tobacco smoke (ETS). Harmful effect of ETS on the human health is well proved phenomenon. Exposure to ETS increases the risk of the cardiovascular diseases, the respiratory symptoms and illnesses, and the lung cancer. The installation of the ventilation and filtration systems or separation of smokers and non-smokers decrease the exposure to ETS but do not solve the problem. One reasonable and economically justified solution is complete restriction of tobacco smoke in closed area of the workplaces.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
