  • Title: Dental caries in the Indians of northeast (Woodland) America.
    Author: Bibby BG, Sohrweide AG.
    Journal: N Y State Dent J; 1991 Dec; 57(10):23-6. PubMed ID: 1843621.
    Abstract:
Anthropologic publications on the Indians that lived in northeast America between 1000 BC and 1810 AD have been studied to find out whether maple sugar and corn should be blamed for extensive caries found among these tribes. Insufficient information on the use of maple sugar could be found to justify claiming that it was an important cause.
