Abstract: V. cholerae O1 Eltor serotype Ogawa has been causing most of the cholera outbreaks in India till recently. However this communication reports the occurrence of Vibrio Cholerae O1 Inaba in Delhi in 2005, as a predominant causative organism of cholera in children. All strains isolated were sensitive to gentamicin and a high level of resistance towards nalidixic acid and amoxicillin was seen.
