Abstract: Short bowel syndrome is characterized as a state of malabsorption after massive resection of the small intestine. It has a wide spectrum of clinical presentations, from mild to severe depending predominantly on the length of intestine remnant. Management is challenging and requires vigorous attention to every detail. Enteral nutrition is the key to intestinal adaptation and reduction of dependency on parenteral nutrition.
