Abstract: Chronic liver disorders predispose to complex metabolic disturbances that lead to malnutrition, which is universally present in patients with hepatic failure undergoing liver transplantation and is associated with increased morbidity and mortality. The nutritional status is an important factor for survival after liver transplantation. Aggressive nutritional support is essential during all phases of liver transplantation.
