Title: [Blood pressure goal and choice of antihypertensive treatment in patients with mild hypertensive cardiovascular disease]. Author: Narumi H, Takano H, Komuro I. Journal: Nihon Rinsho; 2008 Aug; 66(8):1566-73. PubMed ID: 18700559. Abstract: Guidelines for the management of hypertension are established to reduce hypertension-related morbidity and mortality. Fundamental aims of interventions are designed to prevent and/or slow the development of cardiovascular diseases such as myocardial ischemia, heart failure and left ventricular hypertrophy by effecting favorably the natural history. In clinical trials, antihypertensive therapy has been associated with reductions in cardiovascular events even in patients with mild hypertension. Several classes of medications are recommended to achieve target blood pressure in patients with mild hypertensive cardiovascular diseases.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
