Author: Miller MA, Church LW, Salgado CD.
Journal: Am J Med Sci; 2008 Oct; 336(4):358-61. PubMed ID: 18854683.
    Abstract:
Strongyloides stercoralis infection is a common cause of abdominal pain and diarrhea worldwide. Usually a chronic and limited disease, it can present a therapeutic dilemma when infection is overwhelming, such as what might occur in an immunosuppressed patient. Here we present a case of strongyloides hyperinfection treated successfully with a veterinary formulation of parenteral ivermectin.
