Abstract: The U.S. is experiencing a nursing shortage that is threatening its quality of healthcare. One contributing factor that has been identified is the level of dissatisfaction that nurses have with their working conditions. Health Services Organizations can use female and family friendly initiatives, such as workplace lactation programs to demonstrate that they are willing to support a female employee's task of balancing familial and profession roles.
