  • Title: [Endogenic risk factors of renal carcinoma].
    Author: Zhyrkina OV.
    Journal: Urologiia; 2008; (4):54-5. PubMed ID: 19058364.
    Abstract:
We studied the role of heredity in development of renal carcinoma by case histories and programmed cards of 378 patients with renal carcinoma and 538 persons undergoing prophylactic examination matched for sex, age and residence in proportion 1:1.4. We used a retrospective method case-control. The significance of the findings was estimated with calculation of a relative risk (RR) with a confidence interval (CI) and dependent proportion coefficient (DP). We established the existence of a significant risk for renal carcinoma in individuals having close relatives with cancer: in general [RR(CI) = 2.3(1.2-4.6); DP = 20.2%)], in males [RR(CI)= 2.0(1.0-5.0); DP = 16.5%)], in females [RR(CI) = 2.7(1.0-7.6); DP = 24.7%]. Males with blood group 0(I) and Rh+factor and females with A(II) and any Rh-factor have a significant risk of renal cell carcinoma.
