Title: The clinical anatomy of the anterolateral abdominal wall musculature. Author: Ger R. Journal: Clin Anat; 2009 Apr; 22(3):392-7. PubMed ID: 19173253. Abstract: The anatomy of the anterolateral abdominal wall is mainly of interest to medical students early in their studies. Clinically, it is mostly relevant to surgeons who are performing laparotomies and repairing or preventing hernias. The author's life-long experience suggests that some of the lesser-known details of the anatomy of the abdominal wall have been neglected resulting in some suboptimal results. This manuscript highlights some of these details which, hopefully, will lead to improved outcomes for patients.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
