Abstract: The association between maternal smoking and retarded maternal condition and birth outcome is well know. Smoking during pregnancy increase risk of preterm delivery, hipotrofia, delayed developmental of respiratory and nervous system. The risk for most of thisconditions has been found to increase with the number of cigarettes smoked.
