  • Title: Resistance of Botrytis cinerea to fungicides in Italian vineyards.
Author: Bertetti D, Garibaldi A, Gullino ML.
Journal: Commun Agric Appl Biol Sci; 2008; 73(2):273-82. PubMed ID: 19226764.
    Abstract:
An extensive monitoring carried out during the years 2006 - 2007 in commercial and experimental vineyards located in north-western Italy, permitted to test the sensitivity of populations of Botrytis cinerea to the fungicides commonly used in the past and more recently introduced: dicarboximides, benzimidazoles, phenylpyrroles, anilinopyrimidines, hydroxyanilides and anilides. Sensitivity was tested by evaluating spore germination on a medium amended with increasing concentrations of botryticides. Conidial suspensions used for tests were prepared from infected bunches randomly sampled. Benzimidazole and dicarboximide resistance decreased in comparison with previous monitoring, while resistance to anilinopyrimidines increased. Resistance to hydroxyanilides remained stable at a low level. A few strains showed reduced sensitivity to anilides.
