Abstract: A conventional one-dimensional photonic crystal with a conjugated pair of epsilon-negative and mu-negative defects has been presented, and only the defects are presumed to possess quadratic nonlinearity. Large enhancement of second-harmonic generation is predicted in numerical simulation.
