Title: [Reduction of shoulder dislocation by Kocher's method]. Author: Zolotov AS, Popov RIu. Journal: Vestn Khir Im I I Grek; 2009; 168(1):64-5. PubMed ID: 19432150. Abstract: Many present-day manuals on surgery and traumatology give distorted description of the method of shoulder dislocation by Kocher. In treatment of 69 patients with anterior dislocation of the shoulder the authors used the original Kocher's method (without traction, countertraction, without an assistant) and studied its effectiveness and safety. In 12 (17.4%) patients the dislocation was reduced without anesthesia, in 13 (18.8%) under local anesthetic, in 44 (63.8%) patients--under general anesthetic. Reduction of shoulder dislocation was successful in all the patients. There were no complications. The original Kocher's method of reduction of anterior dislocation of the shoulder is effective and safe.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
