Abstract: An increase in the incidence of Group A streptococcal necrotizing fasciitis has recently been observed in Montréal, Canada. Clinical features of children hospitalized for invasive Group A streptococcal infections and various virulence factor genes of the bacteria were concomitantly analyzed.
