  • Title: [Combined laser instrumentation surgery in children with anterior eye segment diseases].
    Author: Arestova NN.
Journal: Vestn Oftalmol; 2009; 125(2):20-3. PubMed ID: 19517826.
    Abstract:
A series comprising 5 combined laser instrumentation methods was developed and patented for the treatment of inborn, posttraumatic, and postuveal abnormalities of the anterior eye segments in children. Two hundred and ninety-six eyes (246 children aged 2 months to 16 years) were operated on. YAG and argon-laser phases of combined operations were made under general anesthesia in children less than 5 years of age and in older children unable to cooperate. Combined laser-instrumentation treatments for anterior eye diseases in children are safe and highly effective and may be recommended for wide use in pediatric ophthalmology as an alternative to instrumental microsurgical methods.
