Abstract: STUDY DESIGN: Review article. OBJECTIVE: To discuss natural history of congenital scoliosis and kyphosis. SUMMARY OF BACKGROUND DATA: Review of previously published literature on natural history of congenital spine deformities. METHODS: Medline and google search for congenital scoliosis, kyphosis, and kyphoscoliosis, congenital spine anomalies, deformities, and pathologies, and congenital vertebral anomalies, deformities, and pathologies was performed. RESULTS: Congenital vertebral anomalies have potential to progress and careful assessment and monitoring is essential and early intervention may be desirable.
