Title: [Hydroxyproline content in blood and urine in ischemic heart disease]. Author: Nikitin IuP, Korobkova EN. Journal: Kardiologiia; 1977 Aug; 17(8):84-9. PubMed ID: 200786. Abstract: The content of protein-bound oxyproline in blood and the total oxyproline content in urine were studied in 70 healthy individuals between the ages of 20 and 60 and in 124 patients with chronic ischemic heart disease whose ages ranged from 32 to 74. No age dependence of the protein-bound oxyproline level in blood plasma was revealed in healthy individuals. The concentration of oxyproline excreted in the urine was higher in individuals between the ages of 20 and 30 than among older individuals. In patients with chronic ischemic heart disease the level of protein-bound oxyproline in blood plasma was normal, excretion of oxyproline with the urine was increased. In patients with myocardial infarction a period of increased content of oxyproline in blood and urine was observed, the duration of which was determined by the extent and depth of infarction and the clinical course of the disease.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
