Journal: Hu Li Za Zhi; 2010 Apr; 57(2):20-8. PubMed ID: 20401864.
    Abstract:
This paper discusses the potential of applying western somatic approaches to the teaching of traditional Eastern Do-Ing exercises (Shao Lin Da-Mo Yi Jin Jing). In this paper, the fourteen forms of the main Do-Ing exercise, Shao Lin Da-Mo Yi Jin Jing, of Master Lin, the 37th generation master of China's Shaolin Temple, are proposed to show how certain somatic approaches may be introduced to enhance practical teaching strategies. The possibilities for integrating Western somatic concepts into the teaching of Eastern movement exercises represent the underlying theme of this paper.
