  • Title: [Peripheral hepatic artery embolization: experimental study in dogs].
    Author: Yao XH.
Journal: Zhonghua Bing Li Xue Za Zhi; 1991 Mar; 20(1):57-9. PubMed ID: 2065380.
    Abstract:
Peripheral hepatic artery embolization was induced in dogs by intra-arterial injection of cisplatin mixture. The result showed that development of hepatocellular damage and liver infarction was accompanied synchronously with impairment of the liver-function tests during 3-7 days after the embolization, and this impairment recovered gradually afterward. The emboli were 86 microns +/- 46 microns in diameter, and were mainly found in the hepatic micro-arteries. The presence of peripheral hepatic artery occlusion was considered effective in preventing the development of collateral circulation.
