  • Title: [Significance of selected parameters of protein metabolism in patients on chronic dialysis].
    Author: Fischerová H.
Journal: Cas Lek Cesk; 1991 May 24; 130(14):431-5. PubMed ID: 2070389.
    Abstract:
In a group of 45 patients treated by chronic dialysis the author followed up during 38 months the nutritional status influenced by various complications. For detection of nutritional disorders the author selected albumin, prealbumin, transferrin, Whitehead's quotient (WQ). The most valuable indicator proved to be transferrin. Prealbumin did not deviate from normal in the investigated group. WQ is the most accurate parameter because it expresses the ratio of actual values of representative non-essential and essential amino acids.
