    Abstract:
    An organizational model of a cardiological service in the agricultural region has been developed. It is based on the principle of bringing therapeutic and specialized cardiological care nearer to the rural population through the strengthening, development and marked improvement of the performance of primary units of medical care--feldsher and midwife posts and rural medical ambulatory centers and also through the mobilization of medical prevention units for conducting mass prevention activities. The introduction of this model in the Kalinov district of the Vinnitsa Region permitted to improve the quality of dispensarization, primary and secondary prevention and to reduce temporary disability, primary invalidity and mortality from major cardio-vascular diseases.
