Title: [Perforating ulcer of the stomach and duodenum: the risk factors, surgical treatment and its results]. Author: Bachev II. Journal: Klin Med (Mosk); 1990 Oct; 68(10):74-6. PubMed ID: 2077288. Abstract: 258 patients with peptic ulcer underwent surgical treatment for perforation. Ulcer suturing was carried out in 226 patients (87.6%), the rest were subjected to other operations. Overall postoperative mortality was 4.6%. Suture of ulcer is surgery of choice. Fifty-five operations for recurrent ulcer after suture of perforating gastroduodenal ulcers brought to conclusion on defective antiulcer treatment which followed the suture of perforating ulcer. Gastric resection was conducted in 53 patients, other operations in 2 patients. One patient died after repeated surgery (1.8%). Gastric resection is surgery of choice in recurrent ulcers.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
