Title: [Second-degree burn in a pregnant woman]. Author: Rölfing JH, Jensen PE, Lindblad BE. Journal: Ugeskr Laeger; 2010 Oct 04; 172(40):2770-1. PubMed ID: 20926050. Abstract: The incidence of burn injuries in pregnancy is low. Nevertheless, burns can cause maternal and foetal mortality and should be treated aggressively if substantial. Minor burns may frequently be managed without hospitalization. A 27-year-old primigravid woman with a gestational age of 38+6 presented with an abdominal partial-thickness burn covering 3% of her total body surface area. Conservative treatment was conducted in the emergency department. Medical induction of labour was performed. A healthy boy was delivered vaginally within 36 hours after the injury.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
