  • Title: [Analysis of nasal airway resistance in 421 normal adults].
    Author: Li X.
Journal: Zhonghua Er Bi Yan Hou Ke Za Zhi; 1990; 25(6):357-9, 384. PubMed ID: 2093349.
    Abstract:
Nasal airway resistance in 421 normal adults were investigated via anterior rhinomanometry. It was found that the normal value of total NAR in normal adults ranged from 0.126-0.328kPa.s/L (1.29 to 3.35 cmH2O.s/L with normal fluctuations not more than 0.103kPa.s/L (1.05 cmH2O.s/L). The total NAR had a tendency to decrease with ageing, and showed no significant differences between male and female in different age groups (P greater than 0.05). Typical nasal cycles appeared in 80% of normal adults giving rise to alternative changes of bilateral NAR, but the total NAR remained in rather constant ranges.
