Abstract: Mesenteric venous thrombosis is a rare disease, and is secondary to several known causes. Recently, it has been proven that some coagulation alterations (such as: antithrombin III deficit, plasminogen, S protein, etc.) play a role in its pathogenesis. Nevertheless, 10% of the cases are still of unknown origin (primary mesenteric venous thrombosis).
