    Abstract:
    In seven patients with uterine leiomyomatosis investigated the function of hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian axis has been with a GnRH-TRH-double stimulation test. The basal levels of estradiol, progesterone, LH, FSH and PRL as well as the pituitary reaction after the stimulation were determined. Three patients had a tendency to a basal hypergonadotropinemia and four patients to hypoprolactinemia. The pituitary reaction following the stimulation does not show any connection between leiomyoma and secretion pattern of the hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian axis.
