  • Title: [An update on systemic sclerosis].
    Author: Kowal-Bielecka O.
Journal: Ann Acad Med Stetin; 2010; 56 Suppl 1():80-2. PubMed ID: 21365948.
    Abstract:
Systemic sclerosis affects multiple internal organs and systems and is characterized by high clinical variability. Early diagnosis of the disease itself and of organ involvement plays a key role in the management of systemic sclerosis. The prognosis for each patient is equally important. In recent years there has been significant progress in our understanding of the pathogenesis and clinical course of the disease as well as in new therapeutic strategies for scleroderma-associated organ complications. The aim of this review is to present recent advances in the diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment of systemic sclerosis.
