Title: [Psychopathological characteristics of the dysmorphophobia syndrome in attack-like progressive schizophrenia]. Author: Tazabekova ZhK. Abstract: Sixty patients with the dysmorphomania syndrome that occurred in the course of attack-like progredient schizophrenia were examined. A close relationship was discovered between the appearance of dysmorphomanic disorders and affective (depressive) disturbances. In the overwhelming majority of the patients the dysmorphomania syndrome formed in the structure of depressive conditions. A correlation was established between the degree of depressive disorders and the psychopathological essence of dysmorphomania. A study was made of the psychopathological characteristics of depressive disorders accompanying the conviction of the presence of imaginary physical deficiencies. A number of the main types of depressions in the structure of which the dysmorphomania syndrome could be observed were distinguished: involutional anxious and anesthetic.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
