Title: [Total vessel obliteration in arteriosclerosis]. Author: Lebedev LV, Luk'ianov IuV, Shlomin VV, Kumar A. Journal: Vestn Khir Im I I Grek; 1990 Jan; 144(1):7-13. PubMed ID: 2165325. Abstract: Chronic occlusion of atherosclerotic genesis in the femoro-popliteal zone is one of the most widespread vascular diseases. Surgical correction of this pathology still remains far from being solved. The authors propose a new kind of operation-a total disobliteration of the occluded artery which is a variant of semiclosed endarterectomy. An analysis of 116 operations of total disobliteration with an average 30-month period of postoperative observations has shown high percentage (81%) of patency of the disobliterated artery. The authors consider that operation of the total disobliteration type is indicated for the 3-4 stage ischemia of lower extremities, for high risk of the development of infectious complications and the absence of adequate autovein as a plastic material.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
