Title: Imaging of radiation-associated sarcoma. Author: O'Regan K, Hall M, Jagannathan J, Giardino A, Kelly PJ, Butrynski J, Ramaiya N. Journal: AJR Am J Roentgenol; 2011 Jul; 197(1):W30-6. PubMed ID: 21700992. Abstract: OBJECTIVE: The objective of this article is to show the imaging features of radiation-associated sarcoma arising after radiation therapy using multiple imaging modalities. CONCLUSION: A multimodality imaging strategy and collaboration between multidisciplinary teams are important for the management of radiation-associated sarcoma. Because radiation-associated sarcoma often displays locally aggressive behavior and may metastasize, resulting in a poor prognosis, it is important to consider this diagnosis in any patient previously treated with radiation therapy and to recognize the imaging findings.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
