Abstract: We have identified two classes of membrane receptor for atrial natriuretic peptide (KD (dissociation constant) 0.2, 70.1 nmol/L) and angiotensin II (KD 1.7 nmol/L, 15.2 nmol/L) in human fetoplacental vasculature. In addition, in the isolated perfused placenta atrial natriuretic peptide inhibited the vasoconstrictor action of angiotensin II.
