Title: [Characteristics of remission in attack-like schizophrenia interrupted by early recurrences]. Author: Kuz'micheva ON. Journal: Zh Nevropatol Psikhiatr Im S S Korsakova; 1990; 90(7):61-5. PubMed ID: 2175095. Abstract: Altogether 82 patients suffering from shift-like schizophrenia who had discharged from hospital after pronounced attacks were subjected to clinical and follow-up examinations carried out for 2 years stabilized or interrupted by early relapses. Remissions were compared. Two clinical types of the latter ones were distinguished. The first type was characterized by remarkable instability of the condition manifested by alternating of severe compensation and decompensation and subpsychotic positive symptomatology. The second type was marked by a stable picture of profound disintegration of mental functions. As for the second type of remissions, the relapse was sometimes preceded by the improvement of the patients' mental status.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
