  • Title: [Dynamic measuring of blood pressure in the gastrocnemius muscle for evaluation of the status of venous hemodynamics in the lower extremity].
    Author: Shor NA.
Journal: Vestn Khir Im I I Grek; 1990 Jun; 144(6):37-9. PubMed ID: 2175494.
    Abstract:
The work presents results of measuring the intramuscular pressure in musculus gastrocnemius in healthy people and patients with a pathology of major venous vessels of lower extremities (varicose dilatation of the veins, ++post-thrombophlebitic syndrome with recanalization of profound veins, acute iliofemoral venous thrombosis). It was found that the intramuscular pressure indices correlate with indications of phlebotonometry and may be used for the assessment of the state of venous hemodynamics in lower extremities.
