Title: Expression of the yeast DNA primase gene, PRI1, is regulated within the mitotic cell cycle and in meiosis. Author: Johnston LH, White JH, Johnson AL, Lucchini G, Plevani P. Journal: Mol Gen Genet; 1990 Mar; 221(1):44-8. PubMed ID: 2183009. Abstract: Mitotic cultures synchronised either by a feed-starve protocol or by elutriation have been used to show that the Saccharomyces cerevisiae DNA primase I gene is periodically expressed in the cell cycle. The transcript increases many-fold in late G1 and reaches a peak at the same time as four other genes essential for DNA synthesis, CDC8, CDC9, CDC21 and POL1. The primase I transcript is also regulated in meiosis, reaching maximal levels during premeiotic DNA synthesis.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
