Title: [Possible role of malonic dialdehyde in the regulation of cell division]. Author: Dmitriev LF. Journal: Mol Biol (Mosk); 1990; 24(2):566-71. PubMed ID: 2194118. Abstract: Malonic dialdehyde (MDA) crosslinking of complementary chains of DNA is suggested. It contributes to the stabilization of the DNA helix, making its replication impossible. MDA is considered as a cell division inhibitor. The MDA-producing process (lipid peroxidation) is considered to be a normal strictly controlled in vivo process. Control of rest and proliferation alternations in normal cells and its impairment in transformed cells are discussed in terms of the proposed idea.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
