Title: Harada's disease associated with fibrous dysplasia. Author: Maxwell DP, Stonecipher K, Karcioglu ZA, Cole HP, Haik BG. Journal: Ann Ophthalmol; 1990 Jul; 22(7):263-6. PubMed ID: 2203296. Abstract: Harada's disease is a well-described entity consisting of bilateral serous retinal detachments and diffuse choroiditis. The etiology of Harada's disease is obscure. Fibrous dysplasia of the orbit is also a well-known entity associated with many orbital and ophthalmologic findings. The defect in fibrous dysplasia appears to be a congenital nonhereditary abnormality in bone-forming mesenchyme. We present a case of Harada's disease and fibrous dysplasia of the orbit. The clinical photographs, fluorescein angiograms, ultrasound study, and histologic specimens are presented.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
